It’s been a few months since I last did a photoshoot. Quite a few months, in fact nearly three quarters of a year. So when I decided I was going to get back into the groove it took a bit of thinking, planning and the help of a great model.
I’ve worked with Fiona before: a great model, very professional and huge fun to work with. She also benefits from having a place she can shoot from.
So I rigged the lights, stepped behind the camera and away we went.
To be honest I think it helped working with someone I’ve shot before. Not only did she appreciate how I worked, she was also totally at ease with the odd mistake I made. And of course we got on like a house on fire.
Based purely on my experience (and usual disclaimers apply), if you are getting back into photography after a time away then work with a model you’ve enjoyed working with before and take your time. Most importantly of all – enjoy yourself.
