Commentary on aspects of the BDSM scene

Apologies

An apology to my regular readers for not updating the blog as often as I should.

Commentary

Boobs!

A neighbour complained about my newly acquired habit. After some consideration, I adjusted my behaviour.

Wear a fucking mask

Masks are seen by some as an instrument of oppression. Stop dicking about and take a few words of advice from a gas mask fetishist.

Commentary

Having a week off

Lockdown has finally won. A lack of motivation, stiffled creativity and general boredom has had the better of me. Time for a break.

We need to talk about consent in BDSM

Since BDSM went mainstream the importance of safe, sane and consensual has been lost. We need to reopen the conversation about consent.

Update

The most heartfelt of my short stories has finally made its way onto Smashwords and into their premium catalogue. That means you can also find it on Apple, in Barnes & Noble and a few other places.

Is this just exploiting Coronavirus for profit?

Using the coronavirus to advertise your fetish site is poor taste at best.

Maybe it’s time to reinvent myself

Fingers against lips in pose

With big changes coming up in our lives, Tinky and I have decided to leave the UK for her native Japan. Could a move to Tokyo prompt a reinvention?

No one reads your Fetlife Profile

Doesn’t matter what you write in your profile. No one reads it. Might as well just get on and enjoy social networking anyway.

My sex education was fucked up – and no one said a thing

My sex education in the 1980s was woefully inadequate. Now it seems little has changed, and maybe even gone backwards.

Copyright, photographs and posting on social media

Just because you’re in a photo doesn’t mean you have a right to share it on Social Media. If you’re commissioning a shoot get a proper contract.

Update

Saturday, 19th October 2019

There’s good news from the UK Government: plans to introduce a nationwide “porn block” have been shelved. If they’d gone ahead every porn site serving content into the UK would have had to challenge the visitor to prove they were over 18. Not with a timid pop-up, but with proper verification.

The whole thing was getting silly. Asking people to provide their credit card details just to look at content wasn’t going to help build trust. Other ideas, such as using your passport or buying a verification card from a newsagent, didn’t fly either. When stories emerged that PornHub’s owner was trying to build a national database of porn users privacy came rushing to the front.

For now the plans have been scrapped. Needless to say privacy advocates are happy and the “what about the children?” brigade less so. There’s the usual talk of children being put at risk from harmful content and little about the conversations parents should be having with their children but won’t.

I’ve little doubt the plans will resurface in another form. For now at least we Brits can all enjoy our adult content without filter.
